Ai-Ling Hsieh Teacher Ai-Ling has been teaching Mandarin and Chinese culture for 26 years. Most of her students come from non-Mandarin speaking families. In addition to Chinese and US descendants, some are from India, Japan, Korea, the Philippines Mexico and South America.
She has taught both traditional and simplified Chinese characters. She teaches PinYin system for pronunciation and is well versed in ZhuYin system as well. Occasionally, she hass provided training for other Chinese school teachers and has taught them how to teach PinYin system along with their ZhuYin system background. Recently she completed the Federal Government StarTalk Chinese Teachers Training Program at Berkeley. She is also one of the authors of SAT II Chinese preparation book. She has a MA degree from UC Berkeley.
In June 2005 and April 2007, she was selected by the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools to visit Mainland China to tour elementary schools, middle schools, and colleges to exchange the leading methods for teaching Mandarin and Chinese culture.. Teaching Mandarin has always been her passion. She is a highly qualified Mandarin teacher and confident that she will contribute her experience and skills to her students.
